Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences

Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences are symbolic of the Human Journey in all the domains of life.  In Tarot, we look at the Fool’s spiritual progression.   Whereas, in the Elder Futhark Runes System, we look at the whole person regarding “Human Development”.  Both the Tarot and the Elder Futhark correspond to one another.

The Fruits of Freedom

I plant this seed so to harvest many fruits

Its value far surpasses my dreams

It’s sweet taste will make me dream

Of setting myself apart from the heard

By eating success’ sweet fruits

Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences

Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences readily show that The Tower Tarot Card  becomes Fehu/The Cattle.  Our Fool is in reaction to a storm; and he is cleaning house!  This goes to confirm that The Fool is a young man/young women who realizes that he/she is not in control of what is happening to them.

We, in Tarot, already know that the Fool is a young person who is just setting out into the world to prove out what he has learned from his mother.  He leaves home to make his own luck in life.  His intent is to be successful at it.  However, in the Elder Futhark system, he meets up with a storm right away as soon as he/she sets foot into the world.  It is no wonder that in the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck, our Fool appears as if about to walk off a precipice!

Hello there, fellow Tarot Readers.  My name is Nicole Dauch of Tarot Reading By Evergreen.  These past three years, many people on Facebook have asked me to teach them the Runes.  So I thought that it is about time that I do so.

The way I plan to do this, is by combining both the Tarot and the Elder Futhark Runes System together – via their correspondences.  This, so that both the Runes enthousiast and the Tarot Reader can follow along.

The Human Dimensions

The Human Dimensions in the Elder Futhark System are crucial.  This system of divination looks at the human development of the whole person in three domains of her/his life.  How they evolve within the context of society, within the Universal Principal and how the person obeys the Evolutionary Laws of the Universe.

Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences are not an invention of mine.  I lay no claim to inventing the wheel.  Correspondences of the Runes to Tarot are not new.  My adoption mother, Clarisse Breton (1918-1990) taught me that, “Tarot is the divination of the Core Energy that controls us, and how we choose to react to it”.  Same goes with the Elder Futhark Runes.

In other words, we can use Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences to help with divination  We can use those correspondences to do a divination on how the Querent is developing her/his true independence from their parents, from their leaders in their community.  We can also use these same correspondences to find out if the Querent is developing his independence according to the Evolutionary Laws of the Universe.

The Fool by any other name

The Fool by any other name is still the Fool.  In Tarot, we tend to think of the Fool as possessing a naive nature.  This because we adults agree to say that the young person called the Fool, is “foolish” to go out into the world on his own.  We all agree to say, that The Fool is an aspect of our younger-selves that was clueless as to what awaited us out there in the world away from our mother’s apron strings.  As children, our survival was mainly due to our parent’s luck they had made for themselves.  As the Fool, we left our father’s rule, because we thought ourselves sufficiently well equipped to become independent and successful out there among the other grown-ups who do not care, nor love our Fool.

Consider what cattle do.  Cattle roam so to find good grass to eat.  Then the herdsman rounds the cattle up, drives them back to his ranch, puts them into locked enclosures to bring them to slaughter when the time comes.  Now that has just got to be the worse storm the naive cattle can be in!  Indeed, our Fool is naïve!  It is but a Fool who thinks that he can leave home and that the world will take it easy on him.  Nottttttttttt!!! Just like what happens to cattle, The Fool is not necessarily safe from his own herdsman.

The Fool is born within the context of society.  His society is ruled by a Core Energy (the herdsman) that controls the Fool.  That Core Energy expects the Fool to behave as cattle; to just simply let himself be herded.  It is a Core Energy that decides if our Fool will be born and even if he will grow up.  It decides for us what school we shall attend; what and how to learn.  It decides for us if we will get a job; how much money we will get from it, and even how long we can do it for.  All that our Fool (Fehu/cattle) can do is to choose how he will react to that Core Energy.

So when my adoption mother taught me about that Core Energy that controls me in my life, it was her way of telling me that I was the Fool (Fehu).  If you are like me, you do not like being a Fehu; you resist that Core Energy that controls you as if you were just part of a herd of cattle.  If  you are like me, then you are a Fehu just as much as I am.  Oh lol, did I just call you “Fehu”?  I think I’d better explain that one before I am run out of Dodge lol… So read on…

Your Fehu

Your Fehu, in the context of human society, has a deep seeded “instinct to survive” as an individual.  The word “individual” means that you are an “I am.”  To say that “I am,” automatically implies that you are aware of being a separate and distinct person from the other people in your environment.  Your in-di-vi-dual  survival’s instinct make you just as restless as cattle when it senses danger.  To better understand this restlessness of yours, consider the cattle under a herdsman’s control.

Just because the individual cattle is born into a herd, it does not mean that the individual cattle is a happy camper.  Since birth, cattle feel the control of the Herdsman’s energy.  The cattle chose to react with meekness and compliance to that Core Energy.  Cattle will continue to respond in this way, up and until something goes wrong.

If and when a storm hits (with thunder and/or lightning), the cattle become restless and down-right aggressive.  It may be that the overwhelming majority of the cattle will just moan and groan about it.  However, one of them will break loose and start to stampede out of the enclosure the herdsman put them in.  The rest of the cattle follow that individual cattle and stampede along with him.  Eventually, that individual cattle will do as the Fool does in The Tower Card.  He will choose to separate himself from the stampeding herd of cattle so to go and make his own luck in life – on his own.  In other words, he will clean his own house!  Moreover, he will strive to be successful at his newly found independence.

If and when your basic survival no longer is satisfied, you become restless against that Core Energy that controls you.  Your then Fehu (the Tower Card) thinking it best to become independent from that Core energy that controls you.  To do so, you are more than eager to leave home so to make your own luck in life.  You strive to become independent and place your trust in your in-di-vi-dual capacity and knowledge.  Hower, you soon learn that true freedom comes at a price!

True Freedom Comes at a Price

True Freedom Comes at a Price.  We soon learn that we must pay the toll to leave home.  And that once we do leave home, we must strive to maintain our independence.

Having left our father’s house, we nevertheless are the product of our birth.  We carry our genetic baggage with us everywhere we go in life.  The chains that bind us to our parents keep us forever indebted to them.  More so, it is through our parents that the Core Energy that controls us – manages to hunt us down so to keep us under its control.

The Core Energy that controls us will not let us break that which binds us to it.  We are forever in its debt.   It knows that for as long as we remain part of its herd, we will continue to be as cattle to it; meek and compliant and to bring it wealth.  Yes, we must take care of our parents when they are old, but we do not need to be under their control as we do so.

The Secret of the Fool as a Fehu

The Secret of the Fool as a Fehu is the wealth he risks getting.  Money is power!  Moreover, that is what the Fool as The Tower Card/Fehu wants.  That is why, that even if there is no storm in his family’s life at the time, the Fool will create his own storm (if he has to) – so to leave home.

You can only achieve true independence once you get wealth and can keep it.  There is a “Force” that lives on the margins of your Querent’s individuality.  A Force that compels he/she not to be controlled by a Core Energy that only seeks to herd them – as if they were cattle.

Tarot Elder Futhark Correspondences are symbolic of our Human Development Stages.  The Human Developmental stage of leaving home, is absolutely a normal one.  Freya’s Aett, is the Human Dimension within the context of society.  This is the Aett upon which you will find our Tarot Fool as Fehu/the Tower.  It is absolutely normal for a young lad leave home to go make his own luck in life, and more importantly, to fight to keep his independence/wealth.

Centering and Grounding

Centering and Grounding are crucial to a Tarot Reader’s lasting power.  It will make you into a happy Tarot Reader.  If you do not Center and Ground yourself, you will experience unwelcome symptoms.

Centering and grounding
Centering and Grounding

Go Among Trees and Sit Still

I go among trees and sit still.

All my stirring becomes quiet

Around me like circles on water.

My tasks lie in their places

Where I left them, asleep like cattle…

Then what I am afraid of comes.

I live for a while in its sight.

What I fear in it leaves it,

And the fear of it leaves me.

It sings, and I hear its song.

(By Wendell Berry from Sabbaths, 1987, North Point Press)

Centering and Grounding

Centering and Grounding can seem time-consuming to the average Tarot professional.  However, it is a crucial part of getting ready to do a Tarot Reading.  If you experience symptoms during or after a Reading, it is most likely because you need to Center and Ground yourself.

Hello, fellow professional Tarot Readers.  My name is Evergreen of Tarot Reading By Evergreen.  This Tarot Article is part of a series of Tarot Profesional Development Articles I write from time to time.

I often read on Facebook posts by people who say they are experiencing symptoms.  Some of the responses to such posts are excellent.  They are good advice on Centering and Grounding.

Why do you need to Center and Ground

Why do you need to Center and Ground yourself?  Perhaps you are a natural Super-sensitive or an empath, you think that everything you sense or pick up from people is part and parcel of this gift of yours.  Yes, but not quite!  It is because you are using your energy when you do a Tarot Reading.  In other words, you are depleting yourself of your personal strength.

It may very well be that you pick up things as a Super-sensitive.  However, be aware of when it is not what you are picking up on from other people.  Experiencing symptoms is an entirely different matter.  Then it is because you are using your energy when you do a Tarot Reading.  In other words, you are depleting yourself of your personal strength.

It is a very little known secret among Tarot Readers that Tarot Reading is part of the Magickal Arts.  If you are not aware that doing a Tarot Reading is performing a form of Magick, then you would do well to get a basic understanding of Magickal Timing, and the appropriate rituals associate with performing magick.

Not only is doing Readings part of the Magickal arts, it is also part of the Healing Arts.  Many also link it to Chakra and Healing.  No matter what is your personal belief concerning the Tarot, you are not just using the cards to do a Reading with; you experience symptoms because you are spending your energy.

When to Center and Ground yourself

When to Center and Ground yourself is what you must know before you pick up your Tarot Deck each day.  Behind the scenes, we Tarot Readers live out our daily lives just like everybody else.  We have a home or an apartment; a husband and children; and part-time or full-time paying jobs outside of the home.  We have bills to pay; meals to prepare; a house to clean.  Just like everybody else, we are but human after all.  Just like everybody else, we can become overwhelmed and tired out.

If you are like me, there comes the point in time when you need to take care of yourself.  Centering and Grounding is an integral part of taking care of ourselves.  In doing so, we maintain our core strength and lasting power.

So, Center and Ground yourself each morning before you begin your Tarot Reading day.  You can also Center and Ground anytime you want; especially when you experience symptoms due to performing a Reading.  Doing so will help you clear those symptoms away, if not avoid them all together.

What are these symptoms

What are these symptoms due to a lack of grounding?  Here is a list of these:

Fatigue, nervousness, restlessness, short temper.  When we are exhausted, we can become ill.  Your immune system might be weak.  You may even become dizzy, and become aware of being on Tilt or unbalanced.  You may experience mental confusion, chakra unbalances, and subtle energy disturbances in the aura or other subtle bodies.  You may experience any or all of these symptoms.

Many Tarot Readers feel they just do not have the time to center and ground themselves.  We read in books and especially on Facebook, many excellent suggestions on Centering and Grounding.  Notice that most responders keep it short and sweet; they do not go into the long, time-consuming Centering and Grounding Rituals.  Moreover, that is because it can be done very efficiently without it becoming long and worn out.

How to Center and Ground yourself

How to Center and Ground yourself is part of the “basic knowledge” mentioned in a previous paragraph in this blog article.  If you practice Centering and Grounding on a daily basis, or whenever you need to Ground, it will become an automatic short and sweet – little Ritual of yours.

Always keep at the front of your mind that Centering and Grounding are all about balancing yourself; being in Equilibrium Physically, Spiritually, and in all the subtle bodies.  To do so is not complicated at all.  Personally, I like “Becoming a Tree”, and/or “using a Crystal”.  Becoming a Tree is a Centering and Grounding method that I learned way back when I was in Social Work School; we had many Professors who just happened to be Esoteric and who incorporated such a method into their teaching program (hence into our Professional Social Work Diplomat).

The Tree Method is quite simple.  Imagine yourself as being a Tree with roots at the bottom of your feet.  Sit on a chair, back straight; both feet flat on the ground; both palms on your lap – facing upwards.  Imagine roots growing from your feet – stretching and reaching down into the Earth beneath your feet just like lightning rods.  Now Imagine your energy (both positive and negative) emptying itself out into the Earth below you.  Then breath in and out slowly while bringing back your roots up into your feet.  You are now Centered and Grounded!  You can do this as fast or as slowly as you have time.

The Crystal Method of Centering and Grounding

The Crystal Method of Centering and Grounding is a time efficient way of stimulating the mind and is closely associated with spirituality.  Certain Crystals, in particular, are especially favored by many when using the Crystal Method.  Clear Fluorite and Clear Quartz are excellent for this.  Hematite is also good for this.

Place the Crystal in your power hand.  Gaze into it for a short period.  Moreover, chant:

“Crystal align my body, mind, and spirit to each other,

Clear and balance and make me secure to the core of my being and atoms,

Empty my surplus energy, time for me to inquire for another”.

Focus on helping me do a Divination, It is time for me to inquire for another person”.

(You may adapt this chant to suit your need).

Personally, I also like to use a bell when pressed for time.  It is even more quick and efficient than the above two Centering and Grounding methods. The sound of my bell reminds me that I just cleared away which is not good for me.  Ringing a bell brings an extra boost when clearing the atmosphere in my home.  It is also a sure way of calling my familiar to me for assistance.

Centering and Grounding give you a sense of balance; performed together, they restore your lasting power.  This helps you to be a happy Reader.  It is a spiritual way of removing symptoms often felt by Tarot Readers, and to clear the atmosphere around you of undesirables.

Pendulum Divination – Hanged Man Tarot Card

Pendulum Divination – Hanged Man Tarot Card is for self-direction.  Many Tarot Readers use a Pendulum so to obtain deeper clarity in our Tarot Readings.  The Pendulum is another tool on our Journey.

THE PENDULUM

The water didn’t dramatically part

The sun with ease slipped in

Like a seed into the awaiting earth

Too eager to regenerate.

A  tranquil  sunset yet again,

The whole world, with bated breath

Was awaiting it, a collective sigh of relief,

Didn’t I hear? For now God didn’t play dice,

Though never it could be totally ruled out,

Now, every worry goes to sleep in the dark,

And tomorrow would come

With a new set of promises and pains.

The pendulum thus swings–

Invisible, between day and night,

Possibility of darkness and light

The hopes that keep us going, and despair.

(The Pendulum, poem by K. Balanchandran)

Pendulum Divination – Hanged Man Tarot Card

Pendulum Divination – Hanged Man Tarot Card is when you want to confirm which way to go during a Tarot Reading.  The Pendulum comes in handy when you feel you cannot go any further with your Reading due to an obstacle.  When there is an obstacle to your Reading, you can bet there is a core energy at play.

To get clarity during a Tarot Reading, you can also use the Pendulum – “to know the very nature of the world around you,”.  In the Metaphysical, a Pendulum is a “highly advanced implement that sends and receives vibrational frequency information.  It detects and effects.  It is an invaluable tool and a trusted friend and ally.  (…) An advanced Seeker uses the Pendulum (…) for ending how things were, and to begin a new time of change.  For to end is to Begin, “Avizinis.

Tarot Readers believe that you can change your destiny.  They will enlighten you as to what changes are needed; guide you on your Journey through life.  They will encourage you to make the necessary changes within yourself and to your situation – so to end how things are now, and to begin a new time of change.   When the Hanged Man Card is pulled in a Reading, a personal sacrifice is required of you; for your good and for the good of others.  This personal sacrifice on your part will bring comfort and joy into your life again.

Corresponding the Hanged Man Tarot Card to the Pendulum

Corresponding the Hanged Man Tarot Card to the Pendulum is easy to do.  Just look at The Hanged Man Card, and you will see a Pendulum.  The Keyword for the Hanged Man Card is, “Surrender.”  Surrendering to the inevitable that is beyond your control, and of your own Free Will, is a sacrifice that you make so to restore balance where there was once chaos.

When someone asks for a Tarot Reading, it is not rare that he or she wants to know the way out of their chaotic situation, or how to get unstuck when in a rut.  They have been to several Tarot Readers and Psychics and have received the same enlightenment and guidance.  Yet, the Querent is still in a rut; the way forward remains out of reach.

Obstacles to the truth, are negative energies that can quickly pull the wool over any Reader’s eyes.  “The Hanged Man Card is a Light card,” Jodorowsky.  The human body is a natural Pendulum ready to manifest the nature of the energy in its immediate environment; it loves to heal what is not equilibrated.  The Hanged Man’s sacrifice rises upward onto the Tree of Life.

Consider the Pendulum

Consider the Pendulum when it rises upward!  If it is light-weight, it will lift itself up.  Let me prove this to you.

Take an ordinary sewing needle and a typical black sewing thread.  Cut the thread at nine inches in length.  Pass it through the eye of your sewing needle.  Tie both ends of your thread – by making a knot at the end of your thread.  Raise the point of your Pendulum up to about three inches above a flat surface.  Moreover, watch your Pendulum levitate in the air.  You have just witnessed your own Chi manifesting itself to you!  Chi is energy!

Now notice that your sewing needle Pendulum is silver (gray).  Gray is the color that corresponds to all of your body parts.  Its attributes are to retreat wounds.  To accept, let go and let a Higher Power than yourself do the rest.  A Higher Power than yourself can be either the positive or the negative energies detected by your Pendulum.   This, even if it is your Chi lifting up your sewing needle Pendulum.

Consider the Hanged Man Card

Consider the Hanged Man Card from the Metaphysical perspective.  The Hanged Man Card represents how to heal our emotions, our feelings, our thoughts, and how we can choose to react to events, people, and situations that control us.  In other words, the Hanged Man Tarot Card is used in Tarot Magick to discover what changes can be done to a situation; and “how to end things that have been until now; to now make it a new time of change.  (…),” Avizinis.  Both the Hanged Man Tarot Card and your Pendulum are gamechangers!

“The Formula Dubra explains the Way of things in Nature.  It is the same or is equal to “All”.  It leads to or develops into “All”.  All equals One (the Collective Consciousness).  The Collective Consciousness leads to or develops into the Universal Principles.  The Universal Principals are the same as or equal to the Vibrational Frequencies.  The Vibrational Frequencies lead to or develop into Velocity.  Velocity is the same as or is equal to Light.  Light leads to Color.  Color is the same as or is equal to Patterns.  Patterns are the same as or are equal to Thoughts.  Thoughts lead to or develop into Beliefs.  Beliefs lead to or develop into Archetypes.  Archetypes lead to or develop into Lessons.  Lessons are the same as or are equal to Extremes.  Extremes lead to or develop into Balance.  Balance is the same as or is equal to The Journey of One which effects All”, Arvizinis.

Metaphysics takes into account The Formula Dubra.  The Hanged Man Tarot Card and/or your Pendulum speak to the study of, and the use of Knowledge and Wisdom beyond that which Science has proven.

Tarot Readers honor all things

Tarot Readers honor all things in Nature and the Universe.  We honor both the physical and the metaphysical.  We honor the Pendulum just as much as we do the Tarot.

For us, when we do a Tarot Reading, we see all things.  Both the seen and the unseen.  We honor the vibrational frequency output; the character of all that exists.  We are honored to do Tarot Readings for you, so to help you “in all things”; most especially when you need to find your way out of your unhappy situation.

Pendulum Divination – Hanged Man Tarot Card helps us to reach our destiny.  Many Tarot Readers, such as myself, use the Pendulum for clarity and healing during a Tarot Reading.  “Like the Ancients before us, the Pendulum is yet another companion on your Journey,” Catherine Arvizinis.
